Policy on Weather Conditions

At GOAT Ballers Soccer Club, the safety of our players, coaches, and families is our top priority. We follow Environment Canada guidelines to determine whether sessions should proceed under extreme weather conditions.

🔥 Humidex Policy

GOAT Ballers uses the Environment Canada Predicted Humidex Reading to assess heat risk.

  • If the humidex is forecasted to reach 40°C or higher three hours before a scheduled session, that session will be canceled.
  • Canceled sessions will not be rescheduled.

âš¡ Severe Weather & Lightning Policy

  • If Environment Canada issues a severe thunderstorm warning, the session will be canceled for safety.
  • Rain alone does not cancel a session—unless otherwise communicated.
  • If thunder is heard or lightning is seen, the session will be immediately stopped, and all participants must move to a safe indoor location.

For more information, please refer to the Lightning Safety and Preparedness Fact Sheet PDF.

📣 Notification of Cancellation

  • GOAT Ballers administrators will notify participants at least two hours before the session if weather or field conditions require cancellation.
  • If you have any concerns about weather safety, please make the decision that’s best for your child.

🛠 Policy Updates
